My name is Mrs. Kelli Dent. My husband, Rev. Matthew Dent is the Pastor at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Standish. We have two children. Jonathan is 17 and is a senior at Standish-Sterling High School. Natalie is 7 and is in second grade here at Trinity. My husband’s Uncle Doug lives with our family as well. We have a dog named Lacey and two cats named Reese and Kit Kat. Our leopard gecko, Yoshi, lives at school as our classroom pet.
I was born and raised in Saginaw County. After attending Delta College for my first two years of college, I transferred to Concordia University in Ann Arbor. There I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education, my Lutheran Teaching Degree, and my Early Childhood Endorsement. I continued my studies at Eastern Michigan University in their Masters of Reading Program. I graduated from there and am a certified Reading Specialist.
While my husband was a seminary student we moved frequently. I have taught at Lutheran schools in Ann Arbor, Wayne, Warren, and Troy, Michigan, as well as in Fort Wayne, Indiana and Hampton, Iowa. I love teaching in Lutheran schools! I feel blessed to be a part of Trinity’s school family.
